    Restricted: what happened

In July 2022 falling groundwater cut the Yettem-Seville Community Services District's wells to half their usual output; the district imposed a mandatory ban on all outdoor watering for the rest of the summer and had water hauled in for roughly 500 residents, and in 2023 it sought an emergency well citing outages and boil-water notices. Seville had lost supply twice before: in August 2014 its century-old single well could not meet demand and residents went on bottled water while the county drilled an emergency well, and in July 2017 residents reported about 20 hours a day without water. A new distribution system and tank were finished in May 2020, but supply failed again two years later.
